A client recently experienced a sudden breakdown on the highway: strange smells, vehicle shaking, and a loss of acceleration. Diagnostics revealed P0300, P0301, P0303, P0304 (Random/Multiple Misfires) and P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency).
🔍 The Root Cause:
Upon inspection, the ignition coil tubes were flooded with oil. When your Valve Cover Gasket fails, oil leaks into the spark plug wells. This saturates the Ignition Coils and Spark Plugs, causing short circuits and severe misfires. If left unaddressed, the unburnt fuel reaches the catalytic converter— leading to that dreaded P0420 code.
🛠️ The Fix:
Replacing just the coils isn’t enough. You need a complete “Ignition Health Kit”:
✅ Valve Cover Gasket (to stop the leak)
✅ High-Quality Spark Plugs
✅ Premium Ignition Coils
At Autoprtparts, we provide OE-spec ignition coils, spark plugs, sensors, and gasket sets for all major vehicle models. Don’t wait for a highway breakdown to take action.
